After a period of ups and downs in the hospitality industry, Brouhaha Maleny is embarking on a revitalization journey, returning to its historic roots of flavorsome food made with locally sourced produce. This new direction will perfectly complement our award-winning beer, making the Maleny venue the ultimate destination for an unforgettable culinary experience.
We are thrilled to welcome back our renowned former Head Chef, James Ostridge, who has a deep passion for sourcing and utilizing local ingredients. With James at the helm, our kitchen will offer a delightful blend of classic dishes using the finest local ingredients, as well as unique creations that push the boundaries of traditional flavors.
James's culinary journey took him to open Mill Street Kitchen in Nambour with his wife Haley, where they successfully showcased local produce and earned a reputation for excellence, even during the challenging times of COVID. Their dedication to quality was recognized when they were named the "Best Paddock to Plate Restaurant on the Sunshine Coast" by Qantas Magazine.
Inspired by their food exploration in Europe, particularly the UK in 2022 James and Haley decided to return to the Sunshine Coast and create a British pub-style concept in the beautiful hinterland of Maleny.
In addition to the revamped venue, we are excited to announce plans for a local food store, offering homemade foodie products and artisan produce to the public. This store will further contribute to the celebration of local flavors and support for the community.
To ensure we deliver the best possible experience, we are temporarily closing the venue for renovations. Starting on Monday, February 20th, we will be working diligently to transform the space. We invite you to join us as we reopen our doors on Wednesday, February 28th, under the name Brouhaha Maleny.
We value the feedback and disappointment expressed by our loyal locals, and we are committed to bringing our venue and offerings back to their full potential. This next chapter of our traditional home in Maleny is an exciting opportunity for us to create a vibrant and welcoming space where community and culinary excellence thrive.
