Full Time Chef

We are on the hunt for an experienced Chef to join the Brouhaha team. Since opening in 2016, we have grown consistently to the point that our brewery and restaurant in Maleny is bursting at the seams! We are known for our diverse core range of award-winning beers and a seasonal menu full of fresh local produce. As we grow to a new site, there is an opportunity for someone that lives and breathes quality fresh produce, consistency and continual improvement to join our team. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, preparing and serving food in a timely fashion, maintaining and cleaning dishes, uphold cleaning schedules and assist the Head Chef in the kitchen. 

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include; 

  • Prepare and serve food following health and safety guidelines.
  • Assist the kitchen staff in cleaning, food handling and food preparation. 
  • Maintaining a clean healthy environment e.g. floors, dishwashing area, service area, food preparation areas.
  • The above list is not exhaustive and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company.

We are a young, driven team that is passionate about all things beer and food. Our new brewery is growing and is expanding across two locations at Maleny and Baringa. Both venues are central to the beautiful beaches of the Sunshine Coast or the volcanic Glasshouse Mountains. To be considered for the role, you will ideally meet the following: 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Certificate III in hospitality operations preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years working in a kitchen as a qualified chef

Skills

  • Customer service: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels – dietaries, food requests and quality of food.   
  • Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and conciselyvarying communication style depending upon the audience.
  • Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
  • Commerciality: ability to apply knowledge in a practical, commercial manner. 
  • Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members. 
  • Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within the time frame given, and carry out administrative duties within the portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.

Current Position

Bar Staff

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensure a premium dining experience for all patrons of Brouhaha. To follow the direction of and assist FOH management and Supervisors as well as kitchen staff to ensure outstanding customer service and show great attention to detail.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include; 

  • Set up and pack down of the restaurant
  • Follow the direction of Supervisors
  • Follow all checklists and procedures provided
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Taking both food and drink orders promptly and ensure customers have everything they need to enjoy their experience
  • Have knowledge of the menu options and beverages available and be able to answer questions and make recommendations
  • Understand Brouhaha’s core range and the brewing process conducted onsite
  • Prepare beverages and serve to guests
  • Use of EFTPOS and POS systems
  • Cash handling
  • Regular cleaning and maintenance
